Consistent with SportAccord’s commitment to the global Sport Community, SportAccord has taken the initiative to establish a Policy Advisory Board, dedicated to providing strong leadership to the .SPORT gTLD application as well as to ensure the optimal development of Sport awareness for all sport-themed gTLDs.
The primary mission of the PAB is to assist SportAccord in defining and operating the adequate usage policy for the future .sport domain name, specifically in the field of reserved names policy, registrant eligibility, naming restrictions, usage policy and enforcement mechanisms.
A first set of policies has been identified and the PAB is now working on the first issue reports. Concurrent with the publication of these reports, a public forum will be opened, allowing concerned parties to submit their comments.
Members of the PAB include FEI (Federation Equestre Internationale), FIBA (Fédération Internationale de Basketball), FIM (Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme) , FIS ( Fédération Internationale de Ski), ICSD (International Committee of Sports for the Deaf), IPC (International Paralympic Committee) as well as the IOC (International Olympic Committee).
