In addition to the main programme of the conference, over 50 side meetings have been organised. The President of SportAccord Hein Verbruggen said that "the original idea behind the Convention was that we would cram all of those meetings into one week and then we could all be more efficient and cost-effective, and it is really impressive that so many have been scheduled this year."
The goal of this year's Convention was certainly achieved. The event provided a chance for the leading decision-makers in the business of sport to meet, network and engage in discussions on how sport can influence the wider society in the years to come.
