SAINT-PETERSBURG'S LENEXPO TO HOST 2013 SPORTACCORD CONVENT

SportAccord Convention announced today that the 2013 edition of the Convention will take place at the Lenexpo Exhibition Complex in Saint-Petersburg from May 26-31 next year. It will be the first time the world summit of sport visits Russia, one year ahead of the XXII Olympic Winter Games in Sochi.

"SportAccord Convention is a unique platform for Saint-Petersburg to host leaders of world sport," said Yuri Avdeev Chairman of the Saint-Petersburg Sports Committee for Physical Culture and Sports. "We look forward to making new friends and showing them the opportunities for holding future sporting events here."

Sergey Voronkov, the Executive Director of ExpoForum JSC, which operates Lenexpo, added: "Holding a major and authoritative event for the world sports industry such as SportAccord Convention shows that we are moving in the right direction," he said. "We are very pleased to be hosting such an important event in our complex."
