THE WORLD GAMES OPENS HOST BIDDING

27.01.2014

The International World Games Association (IWGA), which will again hold its annual general meeting at SportAccord Convention 2014, has opened the bidding process for The 11th World Games in 2021. The guidelines for the second biggest global multi-sport event after the Olympic Games are now available on the IWGA website at www.theworldgames.org. Potential host cities can download a video about The World Games there too.

"The newly-released document helps each city's responsible officials to get a good overview of the facts, the requirements for hosting The World Games," said Ron Froehlich, President of the IWGA.

With Wroclaw in Poland as the host city, the 2017 Games will be staged in Europe again after a Latin American edition last year. In 2013, the city of Cali in Colombia hosted the ninth edition of the multi-sport event. The World Games 2013 attracted approximately 500.000 spectators. The competitions could be watched on TV worldwide in 120 countries.
