IMG's joint venture with Chinese state television, CCTV-IMG, has made a comprehensive 10-year partnership with the Chinese Football Association Super League (CSL). This includes developing the CSL, helping improve management of Chinese football clubs, advising on development of training programs for young and future players, and bringing of corporate sponsors for CSL events.

Pepsi has enlisted rock stars to create NFL 'team anthems' launching October 21 in commercials during CBS game coverage. Aerosmith will perform one for the New England Patriots and Lenny Kravitz has one for the New York Jets, USA Today reports.

German news channel n-tv set a viewing record with coverage of the Red Bull Stratos skydive. Felix Baumgartner's freefall, airing live at about 16:00, pulled 2.24 million viewers and a share of 8.8% for the channel. Wrap-up coverage of the event in primetime hit an all-time high for the channel with over 6 million viewers, way more than the previous record set by Michael Jackson's funeral.

The FIFA World Cup qualifier between Spain and France on October 16 topped the ratings in both countries. The audience was actually a bit bigger on TVE 1 in Spain (8.98 million) than on TF1 in France (8.54 million) even though Spain is a much smaller market.
The women's football friendly between France and England pulled the top audience on French digital channel Direct 8 on October 20 with 635,000 viewers.
