CH2M HILL Continues to Drive Sustainability Agenda for the third year as SportAccord Convention's Official Sustainability and Legacy Partner.

LONDON, May 09, 2012 - CH2M HILL, a global leader providing design, construction, and programme management services, is proud to be the Official Sustainability and Legacy Partner for SportAccord Convention in May 2012, for the third year running.

"We are proud to continue our excellent relationship with SportAccord Convention," says Jacqueline Rast, President of CH2M HILL's International Division and Global Sport and Events Group. "As Sustainability and Legacy Partner, we are passionate about helping sport industry leaders understand the economic, social, and environmental benefits of embedding a rigorous sustainability agenda in major competition preparation and hosting. As the London 2012 Games will demonstrate later this year, sport makes great cities and nations even greater, and can leave a lasting legacy that will benefit future generations. A key to this is an early focus on and programme-wide commitment to sustainability."

This year's event is being held in Québec City, Canada.

Anna Hellman, executive director of SportAccord Convention said, "SportAccord Convention is on a journey to learn about the relationship between sport and sustainability, and of course become a more sustainable event. We are now 3 years into this journey and we have made significant progress and aim to continue. As the Convention is owned by the International Federations it is also very important for us to help the Federations understand how they can deliver sport in a more sustainable way. We are no experts so it is fantastic to have a global leader in CH2M HILL as a partner to help guide us."

In partnership with its clients, CH2M HILL is delivering some of the world's most challenging programmes, setting new benchmarks in sustainable development. Programmes include the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the 2022 FIFA World Cup(TM) in Qatar, the Metrolinx Project in Ontario, Canada, and the Panama Canal Expansion Programme. CH2M HILL has provided management and sustainability services for six Olympic Games, and through its Halcrow Group, building engineering services for a number of major international stadia. Through the SportAccord Convention partnership, CH2M HILL looks forward to continuing to advance the delivery of world-class, sustainable sport events and venues with future generations in mind.
