Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games Corporation

From the 1st July, 2002 Mr John Harnden 38, has been the Chief Executive Officer of the Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games Corporation.

Mr Harnden, graduated from the University of Adelaide in 1986 with a Bachelor Degree of Engineering (Honours) in Civil Engineering.

Between 1994 and 2002 he was employed by the Australian Grand Prix Corporation, from 1994 to 1996 as Event Manager, from 1996-1998 as Deputy Chief Executive, and from 1998 to 2002, as Chief Executive Officer.

Between 1986 and 1994 Mr Harnden was employed by Kinhill Engineers in Adelaide as an engineer and project manager. During this time, he was involved in the management and design of engineering works associated with Formula One Grand Prix motor circuits in Adelaide and Melbourne, Malaysia, China and Argentina.
