Birmingham City Council

Currently employed as Head of Sport and International Events within the Local Services Directorate of Birmingham City Council, Brian’s current responsibilities include the Gymnastics World Cup Final 2004, Junior Men’s Wheelchair Basketball 2005 and a range of other major sporting projects. Brian recently led a successful bid for Birmingham to host the 29th European Indoor Athletics in 2007.

Brian is President of the British Gymnastics Association, a Board Member of both the British Olympic Association and the National Olympic Committee.  He is on the Board of Directors for the Central Council for Physical Recreation (CCPR) and has a wealth of experience of both international sporting events and governing bodies.  He was Director of Sport for the Commonwealth Games, held in Manchester in 2002 and Chief Operating Officer for the World Indoor Championships in Athletics held in Birmingham in 2003.
